A tip-off to police led to more than 100 cannabis plants being seized from a property in Derby.

A resident's suspicions were passed to beat officers on the Littleover, Mickleover and Sunnyhill team who visited the address on Friday morning.

A cannabis farm was found on the top floor of the building, which has not been identified by the force.

PCSO Nicki Fairchild said roadworks would now be required nearby to mend damage caused to the electricity supply.

She said: "Well over 100 hundred plants will be seized by officers, which will prevent them from being used in further crimes.

"The residents had also tampered with and abstracted the electricity running to the property, making it so dangerous that the National Grid are going to have to dig up the road outside to make it safe."
