A 16-year-old boy has appeared before the crown court charged with murder after a man was fatally stabbed in Leicester.

Louis Howard, 35, died at the scene after police were called to a house in Oakdale Close, Braunstone Frith, soon after 22:40 BST on Wednesday.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested and taken into custody.

On Monday, he appeared at Leicester Crown Court, where he spoke only to confirm his name and was remanded in youth detention accommodation before his next hearing in June.
