Four charged and teens arrested at football match

Four people have been charged and three more arrested following a League Two football match.

The seven were held on suspicion of a range of crimes at Barrow AFC's home game against Fleetwood Town on Saturday, which the away team won 1-0.

Two men aged 43 and 48 were charged with the use of threatening words and behaviour to cause fear of unlawful violence.

A 21-year-old man was charged with possession of a flare at a sporting event, while a boy aged 17 was charged with possession of Class A drugs. Three teenagers were also arrested and have been bailed pending further investigations.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of a flare at a sporting event, while a 16-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing flare.

Another boy, aged 15, was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

The three men who were charged are scheduled to appear at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court at dates in October.

The teenager will appear at Barrow Youth Court in the same month.
