Woman's body found in Staffordshire lake

The woman's body was found in Rudyard Lake

A woman has been found dead in a lake in Staffordshire, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to reports of a body in the water at Rudyard Lake near Leek shortly before 08:00 GMT on Sunday.

A woman was recovered from the water and she was confirmed dead at the scene at about 09:30 GMT.

Staffordshire Police said her death was being treated as unexplained and added officers had found no suspicious circumstances at this stage.
