A man has been arrested after a disturbance during Mass at Nottingham Cathedral.

Officers were called to reports of someone "acting in an agitated manner" inside the cathedral at about 18:45 GMT on Sunday.

Nottinghamshire Police said nobody was injured in the "isolated incident", with no wider risk to the public.

A 38-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

Canon Malachy Brett, dean of the cathedral, said the incident happened during 18:00 Mass, but added there "was no threat to those gathered".
