An 18-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a man whose head was injured in a seaside town fight, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to a report of fighting in Fleet Street, Torquay at about 23:30 BST on Friday.

The force is appealing for witnesses and said: "A man sustained head injuries which are not thought to be life threatening, or life changing and was taken to hospital for treatment."

An 18-year-old man from Paignton had been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and remained in police custody, it added.
