A 13-year-old schoolboy has his sights set on playing a DJ set at Glastonbury Festival next year after carving an early career out for himself in the music industry.

Jack Bobby from Pensford got his first set of decks when he was eight-years-old and did his first professional gig in Bristol when he was 12.

His mother Lisa said she is "heart-burstingly proud" of him after he recently spent four weeks performing in Ibiza and hanging out with the likes of Fatboy Slim.

Jack Bobby said when he gets up on the decks he is "a whole different person" and all of his worries disappear.

"My sister brought me a set of decks during lockdown. I started having a play around and thought I'm actually all right at this," he said.

"I play tracks that people like, but not the original versions, like remixes and stuff."

He described his style as more "technical" and said he enjoys making drops sound more "appetising" and "playing to the crowd".

"When I get up there I click. I'm like a whole different person.

"Playing Glastonbury would be a dream. Headlining the main stage would be a dream, a DJ hasn't done it before," he added.

His mother Lisa said he was brought up on the old school house music tapes that she had at home from when she used to teach aerobics.

"I used to have tapes where we had to break all of the music down," she said.

On his recent trip to DJ in Ibiza she said he was "living his best life".

"For a 13-year-old, literally, he was just sun, sea, swimming every single day, doing what Jack loves. He had the most amazing time.

"He met the most incredible people as well, he was out there with Fatboy Slim.

"We're heart-burstingly proud. Next stop, Glastonbury," she added.
