Police are investigating after a report of a man's "inappropriate" behaviour in a churchyard.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the suspect also made an abusive and threatening comment to a woman in her 60s when she challenged his behaviour at Holy Trinity Church in Ilfracombe.

It happened between 12:20 and 12:30 BST on Sunday, the force added.

The suspect, who was seen "touching himself under his clothing", was described as white, about 40 years old and between 6ft (183cm) and 6ft 2in (187cm) tall.

The force added: "He had long, dark curly hair and was wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black boots, along with a distinctive large, dark silver belt buckle."

Officers have asked anyone with information which may help identify the man as well as any relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact them.
