Beth Garrison-Turner said the experience had left her "shaken" and worried about seeing live music in the future

A couple have been left "devastated" and "shaken" after a Taylor Swift concert they were due to attend on their honeymoon was cancelled in a major security alert.

Beth Garrison-Turner, 26, and her husband Tom, 27, from Cambridge, were due to travel to Vienna to explore the Austrian capital and see the US singer perform on her Eras Tour.

But the star's three Vienna shows were cancelled after details emerged of a plot to kill "a large crowd of people" in a suicide attack.

The newly-wed couple, who have decided to holiday on the Norfolk coast instead, told of their shock at the events.

'Shaken us up'

Mrs Garrison-Turner said the trip was meant to be a "really special time".

The fundraising manager said they were out of pocket by 1,500 euros (£1,285) after cancelling the trip and the experience had "shaken us up".

"I'm anxious to know what measures concert organisers will put in place in the future to prevent this," she added.

Three of Swift's Eras Tour dates, due to be held at the Ernst Happel Stadium, were cancelled

All three Vienna dates of the Eras Tour, due to be held at the Ernst Happel Stadium, were cancelled after police warned event organiser Barracuda Music that officers had thwarted an alleged terrorist attack.

Austrian authorities told a press conference a 19-year-old suspect was believed to be intending to target fans outside the stadium with a bladed weapon as well as constructing a bomb. He is one of four people arrested in the investigation.

The couple, who got married five weeks ago, had Swift's song Lover as their first dance.

"I completely understand why they cancelled, it was the right call, but it doesn't make it any less heartbreaking as we've never seen (Swift) before," she said.

"We are devastated that we won't get the opportunity to see her, ticket scalpers are selling tickets for thousands each for Wembley and it's just too much for us."
