Large police presence as boy stabbed near KFC

Police have launched an investigation after a teenager was stabbed near a fast food restaurant in Nottingham.

Officers were called to the incident next to KFC in Hucknall Lane, Bulwell, at about 14:55 BST on Sunday.

Police said a 17-year-old boy was stabbed and taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment and his injuries are not currently thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made yet.

A police cordon remains in place while the investigation continues.

Det Insp Kayne Rukas said: "As you would expect, we are treating this incident extremely seriously.

"There will be a large police presence in the area as we determine what has happened and seek to find those responsible."

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information.
