A car park is to remain closed for some time after a vehicle crashed into it.
Northamptonshire Police said a collision happened in St John's Street, Northampton, just after 15:30 BST, which resulted in a car crashing into St John's Car Park.
The air ambulance was called to the scene and landed in nearby Becket's Park.
West Northamptonshire Council said the car park was likely to remain closed into Saturday.
"Following the incident this afternoon, we have been informed that cars are now allowed to leave St John’s car park," a council spokesperson said.
"The damaged entrance remains cordoned off so please use an alternative access point.
"Please be aware the car park is currently closed, and this may continue into tomorrow [Saturday].
"Please look at alternative parking if you are planning to visit the town centre."
Traffic in the area is reported to be heavy and delays were likely to affect people travelling to performances at the Royal & Derngate.
Rugby fans making their way to Franklin's Gardens for Friday's Northampton Saints match against Sale could also be affected.
Northamptonshire Police said motorists with cars parked in St Johns Car Park were "asked to bear with emergency services and West Northamptonshire Council while work takes place to establish the structural safety of the building following this afternoon’s collision".
"Further updates will be posted once an assessment has taken place," the force added.
