Two men have been arrested after several cars were set on fire, police said.
Residents in three houses on Barmouth Drive, Grimsby, had to flee their properties after five cars were set ablaze shortly after 00:30 BST on Tuesday.
Humberside Police said the men, aged 39 and 41, had been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson and remained in custody.
The force said an 18-year-old man had also been arrested and had been released under investigation, but was not believed to be involved in the incident.
Det Sgt Jack Bradford appealed for any information, CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.
Humberside Fire and Rescue attended, but all five cars were destroyed.
Police earlier said nobody was injured in the incident.
