Key route to close overnight for resurfacing

There have been complaints about large potholes on the A361

A key road linking two Somerset towns will be closed overnight for resurfacing.

The A361 in Othery will be closed for 13 nights between 22 January and 8 February.

The road will be closed on weekdays from 18:30 GMT to 23:30.

Other sections of the road in Somerset have been the subject of complaints due to the size of potholes there.

Councillor Richard Wilkins, lead member for transport and waste services at Somerset Council, said the work is being done outside of peak hours to minimise disruption.

He added: "The team will do their best to get the work completed as quickly and painlessly as possible.

"We are extremely grateful to residents for their support and understanding while this work is done."
