Hundreds of e-cigarettes have been stolen from a lorry parked in a layby in Dumfries and Galloway.

A group of men threatened the driver of the vehicle as it was stopped on the A75 between the B7020 and B721 near to the Annan West junction at about 22:45 on Thursday.

The men forced open the lorry before taking 27 pallets of e-cigarettes from inside.

The driver was unhurt but badly shaken and officers have launched an appeal for information, external.

Det Con Jim Kirkpatrick said officers were analysing CCTV from the local area but asked any drivers with dashcam footage to submit it to officers.
