Oil spill closes major city route

The incident has been under way since the early hours

A major route through south Bristol has partially closed due to an oil spill.

Drivers travelling on the A3029 Winterstoke Road are facing delays after the road closed in the early hours.

One lane has since reopened but traffic-monitoring data in the area shows traffic on the road and surrounding routes is moving slowly as a result.

The partial closure is currently in place between A38 Bedminster Down Road to Ashton Works. We will update this story as we get more information.
