Major city route reopens following oil spill

The incident caused disruption to road users on the A3029 Winterstoke Road

A major route through south Bristol that was partially closed due to an oil spill has been reopened.
Drivers travelling on the A3029 Winterstoke Road faced delays after the road closed in the early hours of the morning.
Bristol City Council confirmed it shut the road after a fly-tipped container that had been abandoned on the footway was toppled, causing the oil inside to flow across the carriageway.
The partial closure was in place between A38 Bedminster Down Road to Ashton Works.
