A town in Leicestershire is set to host its third Pride celebrations.

Hinckley first held a Pride event in 2023, which paved the way for an annual celebration.

This year's event, on Saturday 23 August, will include a parade through the town, from Argents Mead Park to Hollycroft Park.

The one-day event will continue in Hollycroft Park with a line-up of local artists, tribute acts, drag queens and other entertainment.

The event this year will be "bigger" than ever according to the organisers

The parade will start at 12:00 BST before it travels down Castle Street, then along Bond Street before making its way to the 'Pride in the Park' venue.

As well as a main stage, the event will have food and drinks stalls as well as a space for people to relax and take part in craft activities.

Dan Hope, the event's founder, said: "The Pride march is a solidarity moment where we all come together to show that yes, we have come so far, but there's still many challenges ahead of us to face."

Pride celebrations will continue until 18:00 BST.
