A boy suffered "potentially life-altering" injuries following an incident in Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to Carlton Hill, Carlton, at about 20:50 BST on Wednesday, following reports of violent disorder involving "multiple people" outside a takeaway.

A 17-year-old was found with an injury to his leg.

Two people – a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy – were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Det Sgt Rachel Mayfield, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are still in the early stages of trying to piece together exactly what happened here.

“As such, we would ask that anyone who saw what happened, or has any information that could assist us, gets in touch with the police right away.

“We’d also ask anyone with any CCTV, dash-cam, or any other footage of the incident to come forward, as this could really help our investigation.”
