Proposed changes to leisure marina fees have been reviewed after concerns raised by boat owners, trade associations, and yacht clubs.

The feedback highlighted issues with a 3% proposed increase for 2025, and references to more substantial fee increases in 2026 included in the consultation document.

In response, the States’ Trading Supervisory Board has agreed to recommend a "similarly modest" increase for 2026, to alleviate concerns about the future affordability of moorings.

"The board has not yet directed on 2026 proposals, and the inclusion of these was, therefore, somewhat unhelpful in setting any expectations for 2026," it said in a statement.

'Greater clarity'

Industry representatives also expressed dissatisfaction with losses incurred at Guernsey Airport and the financial position of Guernsey Harbours, the board said.

"The board noted this concern, and while it has sought to make a clear distinction in its previous communications, it will continue to try to provide greater clarity in future," it said.
