The construction of a new leisure centre in a Surrey village has been approved.
Waverley Borough Council (WBC) said it will now appoint a contractor for the construction of the building in Cranleigh.
Plans include a six-lane 25m (82ft) swimming pool, teaching pool, large gym, two multi-purpose exercise and activity studios and a cafe.
Liz Townsend, WBC portfolio holder for planning and development, said it will be a "significant and much-needed improvement to the area".
She said: "We have worked very hard to deliver within our budget and create a sustainable and modern facility that meets the needs of our growing community."
The existing leisure centre is 55 years old and has "exceeded its life expectancy", a council spokesperson said.
It will be demolished once the new centre is built.
Construction is set to commence this autumn with the new building expected to open in spring 2027.
