A large freight vessel is set to carry out berthing trials in Jersey on Saturday.

The DFDS Finlandia Seaways will be testing the "operational parameters of Elizabeth Harbour", Ports of Jersey (POJ) said.

The trial has been commissioned by the government as part of plans to make the island's supply links more resilient.

POJ said the trial would affect sailings by Condor Ferries.

"We are grateful to them for their co-operation and apologise to everyone who is affected by the disruption," it said.

Condor Ferries has cancelled its day trip service from Jersey to St Malo. Its return services from Portsmouth to Jersey and Guernsey to Jersey will be delayed.
