A major road in Lincolnshire is to close for resurfacing work.

The A18 Barton Street will undergo 10 days of work at Riby, Lincolnshire County Council said.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said the "long-planned" scheme would cost more than £500,000 and give the road "many more years of life".

A full weekend road closure will be in place from 20:00 BST on 14 June to 06:00 BST on 17 June.

The roadworks are due to begin on the evening of 12 June. Overnight closures will be required from 17 June to 21 June.

Ms Cassar said the work would "make a very big difference" to motorists and other road users.

“The improvement to the road surface will be very obvious," she added.
