Two men arrested after teenager stabbed in the leg

Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon after a teenage boy was stabbed.

Norfolk Police said a group of about 10 people, dressed in black and carrying knives, stabbed the victim in the leg and hit him in the head in Exeter Way, Thetford, at about 23:50 BST on Wednesday.

Emergency services went to the scene and the teenage boy was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

Det Supt Mark Tate, said: “We know this incident may have caused some concern in the community and we will be conducting reassurance patrols in the area."

He added: "Inquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident and we would be keen to anyone who can help with our investigation."

The two men who have been arrested are being interviewed at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
