Murder arrest after man, 36, found dead in street

Police officers were sent to the scene after reports a man had been found unresponsive

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in the street.

Gwent Police officers were called to Chepstow Road, Newport, at about 18:00 BST on Tuesday after 36-year-old Lee Crewe was found seriously injured.

He was then pronounced dead by the ambulance service.

The 21-year-old, from Newport, remains in custody and police said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the death and believe it was an isolated incident.
