Man arrested after discovery of body in Kildare

An investigation is under way into the death of a man whose body was discovered in County Kildare, gardaí (Irish police) have said.

His body was discovered at a property in Eustace Demense, Naas, at about 13:30 local time.

A man, aged in his 40s, has been arrested as part of the investigation and is being detained at a Garda station in County Kildare.

The man's body has been removed to Naas General Hospital and the scene has been preserved.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Monday afternoon, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.
