Three men have been arrested after a stolen vehicle was used to ram raid a jewellery shop in Surrey, according to police.

Surrey Police said officers were called at about 13:15 GMT on Wednesday to reports of a vehicle "reversing repeatedly" into the front of Brooklands Jewellers on Old Woking Road in West Byfleet.

The suspects who were wearing face coverings entered the store and stole a number of high value items from the front window display, Surrey Police said.

The vehicle was later found at Parkside in New Haw and one suspect was found with injuries, including one to his arm.

He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and was taken to hospital for treatment, the force said.

Following an area search involving a police helicopter and dog unit, two other suspects were also located and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A 44-year-old man, a 38-year-old man, and a 29-year-old man have all been arrested on suspicion of burglary, robbery, and various driving offences.

They are all currently in police custody.

Surrey Police is making a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to an injury being sustained by one of the suspects following a police pursuit.

The force is appealing for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV to come forward.
