Woman's death referred for police standards review

West Mercia Police said officers had been in contact with the woman before she died

The death of a woman in a city park has been referred for review under police professional standards.
Emergency teams were called to Cripplegate Park, Worcester, at about 07:00 BST after the woman was found unresponsive.
A West Mercia Police spokeswoman said: "Sadly, despite best efforts from paramedics, the 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead."
She said the death was not being treated as suspicious, but because there had been police contact with the woman before her death, the matter had been referred to the force's Professional Standards Department to be reviewed.
