Woman in her 80s seriously injured in crash

Devon and Cornwall Police said the crash happened at the junction of Harvey Street and Quarry Street in Torpoint

An elderly woman has suffered life-changing injuries in a road crash, police have said.

The incident, at the junction of Harvey Street and Quarry Street in Torpoint, Cornwall, was reported to Devon and Cornwall Police at 10:35 GMT on Saturday.

The force said the crash involved a white Fiat Abarth 595 car and a pedestrian, with the latter, a local woman in her 80s, being taken to hospital.

Police added a road closure was in place until about 16:15 and anyone with information or dashcam footage of the crash had been asked to contact investigating officers.
