Millionaire tipster in court over rape and abduction charges

A millionaire horse racing tipster has appeared in court charged with multiple rapes, abduction and voyeurism.

Kevin Booth appeared in a private hearing at Wick Sheriff Court in the Highlands earlier facing 21 charges, including charges of assault to injury and child abuse.

The 65-year-old made no plea, was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again within eight days.

Police said he was arrested and charged over non-recent sexual offences and child abuse offences in the Caithness area of the Highlands on Tuesday.

The allegations include eight rape charges, one accusation of child abuse and one abduction charge.

Mr Booth also faces two charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive way.
