Three teenage boys have been arrested after a car crash left two people seriously injured in West Yorkshire.

A black Audi A3 and a white Suzuki S-Cross collided at about 20:05 BST on Monday on Wakefield Road, Clayton West, West Yorkshire Police said.

A 14-year-old boy travelling in the Audi and a woman aged in her 60s in the Suzuki were taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening after the crash at the junction with Litherop Lane.

Two boys aged 15 and a 14-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, the force said.

Police said the Audi was believed to have been in nearby parts of South Yorkshire prior to the collision and have asked for any witnesses or people with video footage to come forward.
