A 23-year-old man has been charged after a stabbing during a disturbance in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers were called to Parliament Row in Hanley, shortly after 11:20 BST on Saturday.

Police said a man was taken to hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

Seyed Pouria, from Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a knife in a public place, and attempted robbery.

He remains in custody until his court appearance at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Monday.
