A police officer was taken to hospital after being injured in a crash in Sheffield city centre.

The officer was responding to an incident while driving a marked police car when they collided with a Volkswagen Passat.

It happened at about 12:45 BST at the junction of Glossop Road and Upper Hanover Street, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Their injuries were described as minor with the driver of the VW not being injured.
