M6 brought to a standstill by flock of sheep
- Published
Traffic was stopped in both directions on the M6 because of a flock of sheep wandering close to the carriageway, National Highways has said.
Work to get the animals to safety saw lanes closed and traffic officers sent to the scene.
The incident in Staffordshire between junction 14 for Stafford and junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent led to long delays.
National Highways later posted on social media: "The farmer is now on scene and the sheep have been contained." All lanes have since reopened.
