People and companies owed money by the Jersey Reds have met to see what assets the club still has after it ceased trading.

The Championship-winning club went into liquidation in September after it was unable to pay its players and staff due to an investor pulling its funding.

The government also voted against financially supporting the club for the rest of the season.

Creditors with a "valid claim against the company" met with liquidators to see what assets the Reds have, and what can be sold to pay off debts - including a tax bill of £457,000 owed to the government.

Kristina Moore, Jersey's Chief Minister, said the Reds had been "given extra time to pay outstanding Social Security, ITIS, GST and licence amounts".

Mainly those with season tickets attended the meeting - no government representative was present, and only one business attended.
