A man has been arrested on suspicion assault after an attack on a taxi driver.
The incident took place close to Wall's Roundabout on Barnwood Road at around 21:35 BST on Monday.
The 62-year-old suspect was reportedly a passenger in the taxi, a black Skoda Fabia, and began arguing with the driver before grabbing him around the neck and punching him.
He was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault and non-fatal strangulation, and has been released on bail while enquiries take place.
Gloucestershire Police are now calling for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.
The vehicle stopped a few metres from the traffic lights during the attack and the horn could be heard repeatedly.
The driver was able to pull over and seek help from a passing motorist.
Police are keen to speak to the driver or passengers of a white Citroen DS3 which joined the roundabout at the same time and left towards Corinium Avenue.
They also want to speak to the occupants of a black Dacia Sandero that was stopped at the lights on the roundabout at the same time as the taxi.
