Man charged with rape after assault in car park

A man has been charged with rape following a serious sexual assault in a car park.
Rooney Gardi, 22, of Calne Road, Lyneham, was charged following the incident in the Dammas Lane car park during the early hours of 30 June, police said.
He has been held in custody and appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday.
He has since been remanded until his next court appearance which will be on 2 August at Swindon Crown Court.
