Telegraph pole falls and blocks road after car crash

Police have closed a road after a telegraph pole fell on to it after a crash near a wedding venue.

Thames Valley Police said the pole tumbled due to a "traffic collision" in Newton Longville, near Milton Keynes, on Sunday evening.

In a post on social media, external, the force said BT workers were called for assistance to "address the fallen telegraph pole" in Whaddon Road.

Drivers were asked to avoid the road at the junction with Longueville Hall while repairs took place.

"Your safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your patience and understanding," a police statement said.
