Free heritage and modern bus rides are taking place in Surrey on Sunday.

The rides are part of a series of events marking the 2024 Summer Festival at the London Bus Museum (LBM) at Brooklands, Weybridge.

This year's event pays tribute to members of the Windrush generation who moved to the UK between 1948 and 1964 and worked in the transport industry.

Previous events have attracted up to 4,000 visitors, the LBM said.

The free service will run using open-platform green buses between Kingston and Epsom on the London 406 bus route.

Among the other vehicles used across the day will be the iconic Routemaster, dating from the late 1950s to 1960s.

Off-site heritage bus tours on a 1925 open top double-decker are also taking place.

This year's focus on the Windrush generation will look at the history of the immigrants from Jamaica, Antigua, Grenada and Trinidad who signed up to work in the transport industry as bus drivers and conductors.

The event will feature historical film reels, a celebration of Caribbean music and period displays.

The event takes place from 10:00 to 17:00 BST on 23 June.
