A nine-year-old boy has been left with serious injuries after an e-bike rider crashed into his pedal bike in a hit-and-run.

The boy was riding his bike on Ffordd y Brain, Blaenymaes, Swansea, at about 15:30 BST on Friday.

He was struck by an electric Sur-Ron or Talaria-type bike, South Wales Police said.

The force said the e-bike was being ridden from the direction of Pentregethin Road towards Middle Road.

It added the e-bike rider returned towards Pentregethin Road after the collision.

The incident was captured on CCTV and a number of people who are known to have been in the area at the time may have witnessed the rider of the e-bike, police said.

The force has asked for any witnesses to get in touch.
