A Tesco supermarket was cordoned off after an aggravated burglary involving crowbars and sledgehammers.
Police were called to the supermarket in London Road in Brandon, Suffolk, just before 01:00 BST, following reports male suspects had forced entry through the front doors.
They stole cash along with cigarettes, vapes and tobacco products and were described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, Suffolk Police said.
They were reported to have left in a dark-coloured vehicle travelling along London Road in the direction of Mildenhall.
