Severn Stars' Sigrid Burger has described her team's final two games as "heartbreaking".

The South African goal shooter, 28, told BBC Hereford & Worcester she had "loved every single minute" of her time with the team.

It comes after Stars missed out on an invite to the newly created eight-team Netball Super League.

"It is heartbreaking and I have been at a few clubs, but when I came to Stars I really felt like I had found a home," said Burger.

"It was a place where it did not matter who you were, what walk of life you came from, however quirky you were, there was space for everyone."

Jess Haynes, one of the team's youngest talents, admitted she was worried about her future in the game.

"I cannot lie, it is quite daunting knowing the teams are being cut down and the numbers per team are being cut down," she said.

The Stars will take to the court at the University of Worcester Arena for the final time on Friday evening at 19:30 BST.
