Two mobile police stations launch in Dorset

The two mobile police stations will be staffed by PCSOs

Dorset Police has launched two mobile police stations that will set up at regular locations across the county once a month.
They will be staffed by Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and will allow members of the public to report crime and incidents or raise concerns.
The western vehicle will serve Dorchester, Sherborne, Lyme Regis, Swanage and Wareham.
The eastern vehicle will visit Ferndown, Verwood, Wimborne, Shaftesbury, Christchurch and Highcliffe.
Assistant Chief Constable Mark Callaghan said the vehicles would visit locations with "high footfall in some of our more rural locations to ensure as many people as possible have access to a member of their local neighbourhood policing team".
The vehicles will operate throughout the year and include an awning and inside seating area.
ACC Callaghan said: "With mobile police stations, community contact points, the online website portal, calls to 101 and 999 in an emergency, request a call back facility, social media channels for every area across the force, as well as enquiry offices at Bournemouth, Weymouth and Blandford, there is a range of options for members of the public to engage with us."
The vehicle timetables and latest updates are available on the Dorset Police website, external.
