Second boy charged with murder after teen stabbed

A second boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager who was fatally stabbed in a park in Wolverhampton.

A 17-year-old, who could not be named for legal reasons, would appear before the city's magistrates' court on Tuesday, West Midlands Police said.

A 16-year-old charged with murder appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court via video link and was remanded in custody.

Harleigh Hepworth, 17, from Rugeley, Staffordshire, was found with fatal wounds in West Park, Wolverhampton, on Thursday.

Det Insp Ade George said the police's thoughts remained with the family and friends of Harleigh.

He stated extra patrols "in the area will continue to provide reassurance" to the community and support everyone affected.
