Police have released three images of one man they want to speak to over the disorder

Police have released CCTV images of six men and one woman detectives want to speak to following violent disorder in Blackpool.

A mob of nearly 1,000 people were involved in unrest in the resort on Saturday.

Twenty people were arrested in Blackpool and four people have been charged, with three of those pleading guilty to offences.

Lancashire Police is appealing for help to identify the people in the images and anyone with information about them is asked to get in touch.

Deputy Chief Constable Sam Mackenzie said he expected the force to make further arrests and charges over the violent disorder.

Bottles and chairs were thrown and police are investigating reports of looting in Houndshill Shopping Centre as the unrest escalated on Saturday.

Crowds initially gathered near Blackpool cenotaph and proceeded through the town’s streets, forcing police to cordon off much of the town centre by early evening.

Police also released CCTV images on Wednesday of a man detectives wanted to speak to following a serious assault during disorder on St John’s Square in the resort.

A 50-year-old man sustained two fractures to the skull and a bleed on the brain. He remains in hospital.
