World War Two enthusiasts are wanted to help recreate a 1940s London street scene in East Lindsey

A group set up to attract film-makers and television producers to Lincolnshire has launched an appeal to recruit extras for a new production.

Location Lincs is the brainchild of Heather Greenwood, who has worked on documentary films including Bros: After the Screaming and Class of 92.

She said they were looking for World War Two enthusiasts to take part in the production, as well as vehicles from the era.

"We are looking to recreate 1940s London in East Lindsey," Ms Greenwood said.

She said details about the film were "top secret" at the moment because Yorkshire was also in the running to be a location.

However, she said: "We need to show we've got the people, the props and the vehicles.

"We want as many people as possible to get involved," she said.

Ms Greenwood said: "The idea is to make a road look like war time - so passers-by are maybe carrying their gas masks and dressed as if they were of the time.

"We are also looking for vehicles [from the era]," she added.

Ms Greenwood, who grew up in Boston and has received a Bafta nomination for her work on Bros: After the Screaming, said they also wanted to hear from owners of classic vehicles for future projects.

Lincolnshire has previously hosted numerous productions, including Napoleon, Peterloo, The Da Vinci Code, Strike and Wild Bill.
