Cyclist, 74, dies five days after crash with car

A 74-year-old cyclist has died five days after he was involved in a collision with a car.

The crash happened on Polnoon Street in Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire, at about 10:00 on Thursday 16 January.

The cyclist, who has not been named, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Police said he died on Tuesday.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information about the crash, which involved a blue Fiat 500, to contact them., external

Sgt Jack Swindells said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

"Inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we continue to appeal to anyone who has yet to speak to us to get in touch, external.

"I am also asking for anyone with dashcam to review the footage and pass on any relevant images which could assist our investigation."
