A hospital trust is set to make nearly £1m extra on the back of an increase in car parking charges this year, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.
Last month, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust raised fees at its sites in Lincoln, Boston and Grantham.
Figures released by the trust show it expects to collect more than £2m in revenue during the 2025/26 financial year from its car parks – 78% more than last year.
It said the rise in charges would allow it to improve parking at its hospitals.
Under the new pricing scheme, visits of up to 30 minutes are free but charges for longer stays have increased.
Blue badge holders, motorcyclists and cancer patients are allowed to park for free, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
The trust said it was due to generate almost £300,000 at its Grantham car park, £1m in Lincoln and almost £700,000 in Boston over the 12 months.
Jayne Warner, director of corporate affairs at ULHT, said: "All money generated comes back to the trust centrally and is used in various ways as part of our revenue budget, including reinvesting in our car park infrastructure."
