Police say they have "significant concerns" about the Tasty takeaway

Police have asked for the licence of a Blackpool takeaway to be revoked after a teenage girl was allegedly propositioned by a man working there illegally.

Lancashire Police received a report on 29 May that a man at the Tasty takeaway on The Strand offered to give an 18-year-old girl "food for half price if she gave him a kiss or for free if she performed oral sex on him".

The force has applied to a council licensing panel to strip the shop of its premises licence over the incident and for employing someone illegally.

Sgt Nat Cox of Lancashire Police said the alleged behaviour was "extremely concerning".

Blackpool Council's licensing panel has been asked by the force to revoke the licence due to the serious nature of the incident and the fact they were employing someone illegally.

The police ask that if the licence is not revoked, more stringent conditions should be added to the licence, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

'Extremely vulnerable'

The application, by Sgt Nat Cox of Lancashire Police said officers were called by the girl's mother at about 03:05 BST on 29 May.

The force said officers responded to a report that the 18-year-old had been assaulted, but after investigating they found she was propositioned "following a dispute over payment".

They discovered the takeaway worker had an asylum seeker ID card which confirmed he was not allowed to work in the UK after two failed asylum applications.

Sgt Cox in his report said police had "significant concerns" about this takeaway.

He said the shop had previously been warned about not having the door staff required under its licence and the alleged propositioning of the woman was "particularly concerning".

"A drunk 18-year-old female on her own late at night is extremely vulnerable," he said.

"She should be able to order food from a takeaway without being subject to sexual advances by the responsible people working there."

The police officer said that the takeaway's owner, Soliman Salalm, and his business partner were "either oblivious to the fact that (the suspect) worked at Tasty or deliberately concealing it.

"Either is worrying and not in line with what is expected of the licence holder".
