Cash stolen in knifepoint robbery at Co-op store

Shop staff were held at knifepoint before cash was stolen from a convenience store in Staffordshire.

A masked man demanded money from two workers at a Co-op store on High Street, Tean, at about 21:50 GMT on Saturday.

He was carrying a kitchen knife, said police who described him as wearing a grey jacket, joggers, black gloves and brown walking boots.

The Staffordshire force has appealed for anyone with information to get in contact.

"Officers have gathered CCTV from the scene and have carried out a number of inquiries as part of our investigation into the incident," police said.

"We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or those with information that can help with our investigation."

Information could also be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers, the force added.
