Thousands of people have attended a town's largest free fireworks display.

Northampton Town Council held its "dazzling" annual event at the Racecourse with a range of entertainment including stage performances.

Attendees were also treated to a film explaining Northamptonshire's links to the infamous gunpowder plot and Guy Fawkes.

Jane Birch from the town council said: "The annual fireworks spectacular is a beloved tradition in our community, and we are excited to bring new elements each year."
