Money seized from criminals has been given to a youth diving group in Plymouth, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said £750 was given to Plymouth Diving Group from the Proceeds of Crime Act.

It said the money has gone towards funding spin bikes, a resistance box and a jumping box for the group's gym.

Police community support officer Clare Honeychurch said: "It's great that we're able to use money that police have seized from criminals for good."

Ms Honeychurch said the force was pleased it was able to use the proceeds to support local groups.

Charlotte Westbury, from Plymouth Diving, said the group was "so grateful".

“We have now received all the equipment," Ms Westbury said.

"Christmas came early for the children of Plymouth Diving!"
